A Filipino Comfort Food: Manam Crispy Palabok

Opening right at the heels of their second Filipino-focused concept Pancit Pancitan, it’s apparent that the restaurant group loves Filipino concepts—and don’t we all?

Manam at the Triangle is a 164-seater space decked out in furniture and decor with Filipino elements—think wooden screens by the facade inspired by the windows of old Filipino homes, and pendant lamps in the dining area that reference the fishing nets used by local fishermen. The overall look of Manam’s flagship store exudes subtle elegance, while paying ode to familiar sights in Philippine culture.

The swanky new spot was designed by famed Hong Kong-based architectural designer Sean Dix, who is known worldwide for collaborating with F&B brands to bring an artistic touch into their spots (he also recently did the interiors for Steak & Frice!). For Manam at the Triangle, Dix’s goal was to bring a sense of something new while staying true to Manam’s contemporary Filipino flair. He envisioned the space to give a feeling of “walking into a new memory” or seeing something familiar as if it were the first time.
